LYRICO YOUTH CHOIRS

Formerly Elk Island Regional Honor Choirs

Empowering Young Singers Through Music for over 40 years.

Lyrico's Junior Choir performs in a Christmas concert.

Your Lyrical Journey Begins Here!

Music has the power to shape more than a beautiful performance. It builds confidence, creates lasting friendships, and gives children and teens a place where they can truly belong.

For more than 40 years, Lyrico Youth Choirs has welcomed young singers into a community where every child is encouraged to grow, discover their potential, and experience the joy of making music together.

2026/27 Choir Season

Monday night rehearsals held weekly at Pine Street Elementary School in Sherwood Park.

Senior Choir (grades 6-12)

Mondays 6:00 - 7:30pm pm

We are more than a choir, we're a place to grow.

Imagine your child walking confidently onto a stage they would have once been nervous to step onto.

Each week our choristers arrive for their rehearsal excited to see friends who have become an important part of their lives. Imagine hearing music fill your home as they practice songs they can't wait to perform.

Then watch them discover not only their singing voice, but a confidence that begins to appear in the classroom, on the playground, and everywhere life takes them.

Those moments don't happen all at once. They happen one rehearsal, one friendship, and one performance at a time. That's the journey we hope every chorister experiences at Lyrico.

Confidence

Children today face constant comparison, whether it's on social media, at school, or from the feeling that they always have to keep up with their peers. Choir offers something different.

Every rehearsal gives kids the chance to try something new, overcome challenges, and discover what they're capable of. Standing on stage after weeks of hard work teaches them that confidence isn't something you're born with. It's something you build, one small success at a time.

Musical Excellence

Learning music develops far more than musical ability. Our experienced artistic staff help choristers build healthy vocal technique, musicianship, and performance skills while strengthening concentration, discipline, creativity, and perseverance. In a world full of constant distractions, choir encourages young people to slow down, listen carefully, and work toward meaningful goals.

Belonging

Many young people today feel more connected online than they do in person, yet loneliness has become one of the biggest challenges facing their generation. Choir creates real connection.

Rehearsals become a place where children are known, encouraged, and valued. They learn together, laugh together, celebrate one another's successes and they often build friendships that last long after the final concert of the season.

Leadership

Great leaders know how to listen as well as they lead. Through every rehearsal, choristers learn to work as part of a team, take responsibility, communicate respectfully, and contribute to something bigger than themselves. Those lessons extend far beyond the choir room, helping them succeed in school, future careers, community involvement, and the relationships they build throughout their lives.

Community

Children thrive when they know they have people who believe in them and celebrate their successes.

Lyrico is much more than a weekly rehearsal. It's a community where children, families, volunteers, directors, alumni, and supporters come together with a shared purpose: helping young people grow into confident, capable individuals. Whether it's cheering each other on at concerts, lending a hand behind the scenes, or celebrating milestones together, every person plays a role in creating an environment where children feel supported, valued, and inspired to do their best.

Helping Young Voices Thrive

For more than four decades, Lyrico has been supported by families, volunteers, sponsors, donors, and community partners who believe music can change lives. Their generosity creates opportunities that extend far beyond the stage.

Great things happen when a community invests in its young people. Every rehearsal, every concert, every friendship, and every confident young singer is part of that story.

We are deeply grateful to our sponsors and supporters whose generosity makes our work possible. Thank you for believing in our mission and helping young singers discover confidence, community, and a lifelong love of music.
